Sand bagging begins

Around 9 am today (May 5, 2017) the city dropped off a box with bags, a pile of sand and a shovel.  This was the start of the sandbagging efforts for our community.  A little over 12 hours and another load of sand and bags later, we have a few hundred sandbags filled and sandbag walls built at the ends of Birchdale and Boyce to protect homes.  We've also revived this website to keep us updated, and set up an emergency contact email list so neighours who join can communicate with everyone and ask for help (to join email belltown-emergency-communications+subscribe@googlegroups.com and to post after joining, email belltown-emergency-communications@googlegroups.com).   We've also heard that at least one neighbour has had a flooded basement already.  We're here to work together to help everyone avoid the same problem.

Please stay tuned to this website for updates from your Belltown Neigbours' Association.  We'll try to present accurate and up to date information about the risks, happenings and best pratices to keep everyone and their homes as safe as possible.
